I.T Classes

The Age
Activity Centre, in partnership with South Thames College and Life
Long Learning provides an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) course for the
older person. In our fully equipped and up to date IT learning suit,
you will be taught by a professional I.T tutor. Each course is run
over a period of eighteen months allowing you to learn at your own
pace. During the course you will be taught essential computer skills
which will enable you to use software packages such as Microsoft
Widows XP, Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher as well as how to use the Internet,
and E-mail friends and family.
On completion of the course, each student will be awarded a
certificate of achievement by South Thames College. |

I.T Classes
Monday & Tuesday

The I.T
classes are held on Mondays and Tuesdays at 966 Garratt Lane,
between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. After the class, students are
welcomed to partake in a meal at the centre, which is served daily
at 1: 00pm.
It is the
aim of the age activity centre to help members/students maximise
on their time and talents while at the centre, and in keeping with
this ethos, the I.T learning suit is made available one day a week
(normally Fridays) for use by any member/student that has reached a
level of competence to work on his or her own. During this time
members/students may use the centres computers to access the
Internet, practice some of the lessons they have learnt during the
course or send and receive e-mail's to and from friends and
relatives. |

Each member of
the I.T class is presented with a 'well earned' Certificate Of
Achievement by South Thames College (Tooting Branch). |
